Top Dog Best Wiener
CARNEY'S
Studio City

If you've read Hot Dog Spot for any length of time, you must have noticed that there is one aspect of every doggery that makes it or breaks it... the dogmeat. Without a good wiener in the bun, no amount of condiments is going to salvage it. Carney's was the very first doggery we reviewed way back in the Spring. We've learned a lot about Hot Dogs since then, but Carney's Standard Dogmeat is still our top favorite.
There isn't another Dog in LA that's snappier. Carney's Hot Dog is perfect when it comes to that. When they come out of the steamer, the insides of the Dogs are piping hot, and have swollen to the point where the casing is as tight as a drum. Your first bite snaps like the dickens and the pressure inside squirts delicious hot dog juice into your mouth, inundating you with the nectar of the Gods. This is what the Hot Dog eating experience is all about!

On behalf of Hot Dog Spot and hot dog fanciers all over Los Angeles, we are proud to present Carney's Studio City the 2004 Top Dog Award for Best Wiener in Los Angeles. For their address and more info, see our review...

Glad to see Carney's got the "Best Wiener" award. We were there yesterday and saw the award in glorious display.
Worth mentioning that Carney's is also very KID-FRIENDLY. Hot dogs served on a train? That's a no-brainer if you have kids.
Our son bounces around the rest of the day chatting "hot dog on a real train! hot dog on a real train!"
We really love Skooby's, too, but that area is a little too dicey to drag our 2 year old and new born too. As much as I want my son to be exposed to hipster punk rawk and guiness chili, we'll opt for the rail car. ;)
Maybe next year you can have a "Top family-friendly dog spot"?
Cheers,
-pat
